COACHES
Diamond Lane coaches teach the game of basketball from the ground up.
We focus on laying the right foundation for our players to grow with an emphasis on fundamental skill building and IQ development. Our players learn how to make reads with and without the basketball and how to trust their teammates.
We believe in toughness, which we define as making the right decisions in hard situations. We strive to have our toughness seen most in our defense. Our mantra, "No pressure, No diamonds" is the bedrock of our philosophy. We focus on being in our "own lane" knowing our greatest competition is against ourselves to be the best we can be.
We don't run or hide from adverse situations believing that adversity refines us like pressure refines diamonds.

Coach Leon
Club President & Coach
Coach Leon is originally from Sacramento California, started coaching boys basketball in 2009 in Stockton California at Delta Sierra Middle School. He had immediate success winning back-to-back championships and earned a coaching job at the nearby Bear Creek High School as the assistant coach for the boys varsity team.
Soon after his success at the middle and high school levels he co-founded and co-directed a boys AAU program called 209 Elite. Around the same time he received the head coaching job for the Bear Creek JV team. He coached the JV team from 2011-2013. During his stint with 209 Elite (2010-2013) he helped the program become one of the most prominent in Northern California and led many young men to receive basketball scholarships and continue their education in college. Due to his committed focus on player development as a coach he was asked to be an affiliate of the nearby Delta Junior College where he was a trainer for two seasons with the men’s basketball team (2011-2013).
Coach Leon decided to move to Idaho Christmas Eve of 2013 to be closer to his two daughters Lissette and Laila who both played basketball in the Treasure Valley. They also both went on and had successful college basketball careers. In January of 2014 he started coaching with Hoop Dreams Basketball Club (ID). During his time with Hoop Dreams (2013-2019) he coached girl’s basketball both youth and high school grades. Under the guidance and leadership of Hoop Dreams coach and director of girls basketball Shambrick Williams coach Leon and the Hoop Dreams program were a powerhouse for girls basketball in Idaho for many years.
Coach Leon has also built a reputation in Idaho as a successful basketball trainer who has helped players both boys and girls on every level improve their game and reach the next level. He has directed basketball clinics, tournaments and leagues in his coaching experience and takes pride in building strong relationships with the players he coaches and mentoring them to pursue their goals in life.
